FISH!

January 2024 – April 2024

FISH! is a 3rd person action-roguelike game where you play as Gobey, a fish who’s lost it big in a high-stakes game of Go Fish at the local Moss Vegas Casino. You must now fight enemies across procedurally generated islands to take their shells and use them to either gamble for upgrades or pay off your massive debt. There are also 23 achievements to chase, which involve a suite of short and long term pursuits.

FISH! was completed in 13 single-week sprints, and encompasses hours of replayability with multiple types of builds to craft, combat scenarios to encounter, and level variations to explore.

As the producer of FISH! I had to handle a longer term development cycle and analyze how this effected concept development and team dynamics. I learned a great deal about conflict management within a creative environment, as well as how scrum processes factor into that management. For this project, I managed multiple meetings a week in a scrum framework and oversaw the creation of a product backlog, sprint taskboards, and logged hours within Jira and the creation of a wiki and referenceable documentation within Confluence. I also advised and provided analytical analysis for multiple QA sessions of over 20 testers each, which contributed towards improving the gameplay experience.
